Energie Cottbus face FC Heidenheim at LEAG Energie Stadion, Cottbus on Sunday, Mar 14 at 1:30 PM in a basement battle that neither side can afford to lose. Both clubs are deep in the relegation picture in the 2. Bundesliga, and defeat here could prove costly come the end of the season.
Energie Cottbus come into this fixture out of form (0W 2L recently). FC Heidenheim are out of form (0W 2L recently), making this a relatively even contest on current form.
Head-to-head records offer little separation — Energie Cottbus and FC Heidenheim have split their 1 meetings almost evenly (0W–1D–0W). Their last encounter ended in a 1–1 draw.
Verdict: Little separates these two on form or history. Home advantage could be the deciding factor — a narrow Energie Cottbus win or a draw looks most likely.
