Mansfield Town face Wigan Athletic at Field Mill, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire on Tuesday, Apr 27 at 8:45 PM in a basement battle that neither side can afford to lose. Both clubs are deep in the relegation picture in the League 1, and defeat here could prove costly come the end of the season.

Mansfield Town come into this fixture out of form (1W 2L recently). Wigan Athletic travel struggling badly (1W 3L in last 5), which may hand the initiative to the hosts.

Despite playing at home, Mansfield Town face a side that has dominated this fixture historically. Wigan Athletic have won 4 of 7 encounters, with 2 draws. Their last encounter ended in Mansfield Town won 1–2.

Verdict: This looks an evenly matched contest. Home advantage gives Mansfield Town a slight edge, but Wigan Athletic are capable of causing problems. A draw would be a fair result.
